Human Factors in Civil Litigation: 1 Hour General MCLE + Happy Hour (CA State Bar Approval Pending)
This presentation offers attorneys a practical and engaging look at how human factors science applies to three of the most common areas of civil litigation: traffic accidents, premises liability, and product liability. We will explore how visual perception, environmental conditions, attention, and response time shape driver behavior behind the wheel; how pedestrians detect and respond to potential fall hazards in their everyday environment; and why warning labels on products are far less effective at preventing injuries than most people assume. Grounded in peer-reviewed research and brought to life through real-world case examples, this presentation will give attorneys a deeper understanding of how human factors analysis can provide compelling, science-based insight into these matters.
