The Bar has worked with Public Counsel since 1994 to staff the monthly legal clinic at Samoshel, OPCC's homless shelter in Santa Monica. We are at the shelter the 3rd Thursday of each month. We always need more volunteers! | | | EVENTS IN REVIEW October 14, 2009 Santa Monica Bar Association held its annual dinner and installation of officers to a packed room at the Sheraton Delfina Hotel on October 14. The Honorable Charles W. McCoy, Presiding Judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court addressed the state of the Superior Court, the current financial crisis, the affect on our law practices, the furlough program, and what is expected to take place over the next ten months. It was a very interesting and enlightening evening. We are grateful to over 15 Judges that attended the event and especially to Judge McCoy for taking their time to be with us. July 22, 2009 More than 50 people attending our annual summer BBQ at the home of Sandra Polin in Pacific Palisades. The Food, Networking and Fellowship was one of the best times! Thank you Sandra for opening your home. Thank you members and non-members for attending. Thank you Thompson West for the wonderful drawing and thank you Judges for participating.
